Watching: We're about halfway through the Summer '24 anime season! I was worried this season would be kind of mediocre, but I actually have a pretty big list of shows I'm keeping up with weekly. The ones I most look forward to during the week are Wistoria: Wand and Sword, The Elusive Samurai, Tower of God S2, and Nier: Automata. I'm also watching Link Click for the first time and this show is crazy. Season 1 was a 10/10 for me and season 2 so far is the same. Can't wait for Bridon Arc later this year! Playing: So. Much. Shadow of the Erdtree. This is probably my favorite DLC of all time. Well, except for the final boss but it is what it is. I thoroughly enjoyed everything else aside from that fight. I managed to avoid all spoilers during my playthrough and just finding everything organically was so fun. On the other end of the intensity scale, my 4 year old son beat his first video game ever - Kirby and the Forgotten Land! It was super rewarding to coach him through the game and see his reactions when he would discover something new or beat a boss. Hopefully there's more gaming in his future!
Reading: I'm wrapping up on my ACOTAR read through. I'm about 75% of the way through A Court of Silver Flames. I've really enjoyed this series and will likely start on Throne of Glass soon afterwards. But first I need to finish the Folk of the Air series. I've got several shelves full of books and too little time! At least I'll never run out of incredible books to read. You can follow me on Goodreads here!
Relaxing: Honestly, most of my free time is spent gaming, reading, or watching anime these days. All three of those things are so relaxing to me. I also train jiu jitsu a few times a week which may not sound relaxing, but to me it's really fun! We have a family vacation to the beach coming up soon and I'm really excited about that. And Dragon Con 2024 is almost here! So pumped, this is definitely my favorite con of the year.
Planning: For video games, I've got my sights set on a mini collection inspired by Elden Ring so that will likely drop soon. Anime is hard to say! I think I should probably look forward to something airing in Fall '24 or Winter '25 and draw inspiration from those. But I also have a lot of shows that aren't currently or imminently airing that I have ideas for. And for the Bookish collection I plan on drawing inspiration from my favorite Romantasy series for now!
